...and it's only the second week of the course.
I am having the hardest time framing my topic coherently, and I feel I need a tutor just to get past this point. It's really humbling and embarrassing to realize that maybe the Capstone is out of my league. I'm overwhelmed, and reaching out to the mentor hasn't been as helpful as I thought it would be. Chapter 1 is due on Sunday and I am stuck at square one with a really intense fear of submitting this late.
Any words of wisdom? I have read and re-read threads here, but the frustration is still there.

What is your topic? Can you find enough resources for it? Or alternatively, are you finding too many?

I can only say don't seek perfection but rather completion. In other words, pick a topic and just get it done.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I'm 2 or 3 months off from starting the capstone, and I'm terrified. I'm going to be in the same boat. I have no idea what type of topic to do. Ugh.

I'm doing guided study because I didn't want to be bothered with having to go back and forth with responses, but now I'm having regrets. Feedback from others would probably help me!
The mentor is Dr. Michele Herrera.
I *just* took advantage of the Smarthinking tutoring that TESC offers, and it was helpful to me. I need to do more research on my topic before continuing on, I think. My topic is how historical events and cultural taboos affect the view of mental illness in a specific community.

Oh gosh, I don't want to scare you off from it! I think my brain is a little wonky right now, plus I've got many irons in the fire that are distractions, so I'm feeling overwhelmed. Maybe come up with your topic now? (I brainstormed beforehand but I changed course when I realized that there may not be enough resources for the original topic.)

That sounds super interesting. I took a cultural anthropology class last summer and really fell in love with the subject. As a result, I have my own theories about cultural taboos and mental illness on a certain community as well. Are you comfortable disclosing which community you are examining? I'm not comfortable disclosing mine so I understand if you aren't.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).
Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

I haven't done the capstone yet, but I get the consensus that it is challenging; no way around it. However, I will urge you to savor the experience and produce the best work you can. Odds are you won't get a chance to write anything greater in your lifetime.
Finished: BA Liberal Studies TESU 2016
