So here I am finishing up 9 more hours at my local cc (they didn't take my 10 hours of FEMA) and so I will only have 49 hours with them at the end of the summer. Another 11 to go with one of them being another natural science. Translates to about another $2,000.00 to get my A.S. or if I transcribe my FEMA, I would have about 59 hours or more to transfer to Excelsior. Anyone know the cost for getting your A.S. from Excelsior. I already have contacted them regarding an evaluation. I think that $2,000.00 would go a long way toward not only getting my A.S. but possibly a B.S.L.A. I prefer testing to taking classes. Opinions anyone?????

This one's easy
If you prefer testing to classes, and your end goal is a BSLA, then my vote is Excelsior all the way. Makes more sense in terms of both time and money.

The enrollment fee at EC is less than $1000 and the graduation fee is about $500.
Would it cost you $60 per credit to get FEMA transcribed at FCC for EC?

If you are that close to the necessary credits at EC to get your AS and you get it within 30 days of registering, they will credit part or all of your registration towards your graduation fee. At least that did that with my SSF, they applied the whole thing so it only cost me $40 to graduate. I love EC and if you prefer testing that would be my recommendation. If you want a liberal studies degree you should be able to almost completely test out of it, if not totally. They don't have a residency requirement so if you are that close look at their requirements and knock out another exam while you wait for their eval. Then you could possibly enroll and apply for graduation within a few weeks. Good Luck!

That's cool!
The other thing is if you reenroll for your bachelor's degree within one year of graduating with your associate degree, they will cut the enrollment fee in half. I don't know if they will give you both deals, though.
