The choice is yours, $290 is not a huge amount to me. The decisions made, at least on this forum, have all been personal preference as to the timeframe between aquiring the degrees. There really is not set rule/answer to your question.
Some, prefer to complete the Associate at min a year prior; others, 6 mos prior. Quite a few on this forum, including myself, received the Associate's as a freebie while finishing up the final requirements on the Bachelor's. We, members of this forum, are considered non-traditional students so I see no need to follow the B&M structure.
Personally, for my first two degrees, I received the AAS first then 6mos later the BA. Exactly a yr later, I completed the second group; the AAS was a freebie (overlapping credit, with 6 new FEMA courses) so I received both on the same date.
