American Military University Grad Degree
#1
I'm looking into getting a Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management through American Military University. It's Regionally accredited, within my price range, and the focus I want.

My goal is to be more informed in my field, to be more qualified to be a county Emergency Manager and to be able to teach distance emergency management classes. Does anyone have any reason why this college/degree would be a bad choice?

Thanks!! Smile
~Autumn

I can't speak for their Master programs but I am taking 2 Upper level classes right now with AMU and taking classes at TESC simultaneously. So far I haven't gotten my grades for my first round of assignments but they seem to be ok. I found it a little more difficult navigating through their system and it's not because I'm used to TESC's Blackboard. This school does have a lot of choices for majors which is a plus. For a few months I thought about going through their MPA program and still may but now I'm leaning towards a online program through a traditional school, just a personal choice.

Oh yeah, AMU also has 8 week terms which is really convenient time wise. It is regionally accredited and has faculty from well known schools. Not sure, but I think the masters program you're interested in would be a sound fit with AMU. However, if you're getting an MBA at AMU and was concerned that their program wasn't AACSB accredited, you might want to consider elsewhere. Or in my case, I was considering a MPA but AMU is not NASPAA accredited so that is why I'm considering other schools but still may very well end up going with AMU. Good Luck.
