Question for EC MBA Students
#1
Is anyone a current or former EC MBA student? I'm wondering what CLEP / DSST exams they accept towards the graduate degree? I'm currently in their BS in Health Sciences majoring in Managment. I did an alumni web chat last week and they are talking about creating a bridge type graduate degree between my current degree and their MBA sometime in the next 18 months. I figure that would be great, but if I can get some of the courses done via CLEP / DSST I would like to do that now while I'm in groove of testing. Also I know some of the business DSST's are being refreshed this summer and I would prefer to take them while they will count as a letter grade. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Since they have nothing official for this yet, I can't look it up. I know she said it wouldn't be a new degree, just some type of bridge to allow us to get the MBA easier. Thanks for your help!

I really have a hard time seeing any school, even a flexible one such as EC, allowing students to take Clep and Dantes towards an MBA. Maybe to fulfill undergrad prereqs but that'd about be it. I've heard of schools accepting professional certifications for graduate credits, for example the CPA, but they're an entirely different beast.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

Only crap schools accept undergrad courses for grad credit. They most certainly would not be able to remain accredited by doing so. However, you can get your MBA with 30 credits if you complete all of your pre-reqs using undergrad exams.

I am doing that right now. Jacksonville State gave me a list of business courses that I will need to take to meet their pre-reqs. By taking them now, I will only need 30 grad credits. The additional benefit of this is that I will be close to having enough credits for a second BS in business at ECE. I figure that the second degree will look pretty good on the resume while the MBA is in the works.
EC - BSLS Finally done!
Went from 86 to 120 credits in six weeks thanks to IC and the forum.
Currently doing MBA pre-reqs.
Now BSLS + 9 credits

I have seen some teaching classes count toward a Master in Ed. They will take some classes that you are doing for a teaching cert. and place them toward a master.

marianne202-CLEP and DSST are all at the undergraduate level. None would grant you graduate level credit for any legitimate MBA program.

What they might be used for is pre-requisite courses. Most graduate programs require you to have certain base classes before you enter the program. Since your BS degree is in Health Sciences you really don't have a business base.
