I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to study and what to use to prepare for this test.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since I take this test the first week of October.
Thanks.

I suggest you do a quick search on this test use the search feature here. You'll probably find many folks who have had the same question and glean some good tips. Try that first, then let us know if you have other questions.
Good luck!

Hi!
I just took this test a few weeks ago, and I found it pretty easy (granted, this is from a history buff). I used the Foundations of Western Civilization DVD set from The Teaching Company, and the REA Western Civilization 1 study guide. I found both tools to be very helpful, although I don't feel that I absorbed the DVD teaching as well as I might have, because I was sick part of the time I was studying with it, and so I'm not completely sure how much this tool helped. I had read on these boards before taking the test that the REA study guide was excellent preparation for this test, and after using it I wholeheartedly agree. I felt that it prepared me very well, and you could probably pass this test using just the REA. True, while I was taking the test I felt like I had to guess on several of the questions, but I also felt like they were all educated guesses. I'd also like to point out that my score on my practice tests was a 61, while my score on the real test was 71. My older sister scored a shocking low score (for her anyway) of 52 on her practice test, but got a 72 on the real test. A 10 point increase for me, a 20 point increase for her! So, while I am of course NOT making any foolproof guarantees, if you study the REA guide thoroughly, perhaps supplementing with a good textbook or other study material, you should do just fine!
Let us know how you do!
