Hey guys,
(I'll bold the questions)a buddy of mine became really interested in this degree test out format and had a question he wanted me to ask is it possible to get dual degrees if the only differences is the AoS? he was looking at getting the Gen. Management B.S. and CIS B.S. and also will there be a savings if he does? will any classes have to be repeated? and the last question is can he get them done roughly about the same time?
thanks guys

You can have Dual areas of studies. The combo you suggest will be fine, but I'd let TESU know that's what you're doing, they seemed annoyed when I didn't. I had an area of study of marketing and cis under my BSBA. It won't be cheaper than a single area of study because it will require additional classes. No classes will have to be repeated, but you can only reuse a certain number of credits in the AoS. They can be completed at the same time.
I chose to add a marketing area of study, because alot of my TECEPS i used for residency were marketing related and I only needed a couple of classes worth of credit to add it. I'm not sure I see a benefit in a Gen Mgmt and CIS combo. To me Gen Mgmt is the equivalent of non specialized AoS in a BSBA (Others may disagree). Having two area of studies that are specialized could be useful for positioning your degree on a resume, but I don't know how general management would ever be useful.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.
Done!

+1, I was looking into having a dual AOS as well, and Mednat was the one I kinda looked at because he's done the CIS and Marketing concentrations.
I still am actually looking into either that OR the General Management option as they will not allow you to "bundle" General Management with any other.
If you choose say Accounting and CIS, or Marketing and CIS, or Accounting and Marketing, then that's fine... there's no real benefit to having two AOS.
One thing to consider is to find out if you or your friend would like to "major" in something for the Masters, like an MBA in Accounting, Finance, MIS.
If so, then you can decide on having the BSBA in A and B.... if not, then there's no real advantage to taking two concentrations.
Good luck, you may want to review the info on the degreeforum.wikia.com webpage for more details on degree plans and requirements.

You cannot get the General Management AOS and any other AOS for the BSBA - you can choose 2 specific AOS's, but once you choose General Management, that's it.
Whatever 2 you choose, you have to have 6 courses in the AOS that are separate from the 6 courses in the other AOS - all the rest of the degree is exactly the same.
