In my opinion Shoto was not being to harsh in regards to blueyz28 comments.
Blueyz28 stated that from everything they had read CCU is not accredited. Blueyz28 went on to state that CCU's business program is not AACSB accredited. Only the second part of this statement is true. CCU is accredited by DETC. The DOE and CHEA are the organizations that recognize the various accrediting agencies, and they recognize the DETC.
Do they have limited utility compared to a RA school? Maybe in an academic setting if one is looking to teach. And this is more to do with the old dog trying to guard their territory and limit competition than anything else. As far as AACSB accreditation most schools whether RA or NA are not AACSB accredited. Perhaps if you goal is to be a CEO of a Fortune 500 company it would be important. But for most people this is not the case. A good accredited degree whether RA or NA will suffice.
I just enrolled in Aspen Universities MBA program. They are NA accredited. My B.S. from COSC is RA. I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to get the best education they can. For me being in my late 40's and a business owner I cannot justify the cost. The Aspen program is only $3000.00 plus books, fees. They are offering a tuition discount through August 15th. My goal in earning my MBA is to learn new skill sets I can implement in my business. I am not looking to earn a Masters in Business so that I can be someone else's employee. As an employer as long as the applicant has a degree from an accreditor recognized by the DOE and CHEA I have no problem with their choice of schools.
So before throwing stones at a school know the facts as Shoto pointed out.
