Hello,
Has anyone taken the Public Relations TECEP? I've been studying it for awhile and had been hoping InstantCert had questions that I could review. I am using the book 'Effective Public Relations' with it's online site. The website has useful questions that coincide with each chapter. I just wanted to see if anyone else has taken or will be taking this test. I hear it is extensive and somewhat difficult. Does anyone have any tips?

Hi Freebird12,
I looked into this exam early on but ended up not taking it because I changed my program from HR/OL to General Mgmt. I was told to be sure to have the book mentioned on the exam description (not necessarily the current edition but by the correct author) because the test will mention Cutlips view on ______. Some students will purchase any text on the subject for CLEP/DSST.
Actually, this exam has a reputation (from TESC students) as being quite easy but I can't speak from first hand knowledge. See comments below.
Because you are going in with a lot of study you will most likely get a very high score. If you remember please leave feedback on the exam for future students.
Good luck!
Here are comments from the TESC site:
âOne of the easiest 3 credits for humanities is the COM210 TECEP, Public relations thought and practice. Read through text and take notes. Take and pass test. Save money and get earlier edition of suggested study text because editon doesnt matter for TECEP.â
âI took the COM-210 TECEP (Public Relations Thought and Practice). Some parts are logical that you can figure out if you are good at testing. Some parts are common sense. Some parts are knowledge that you can cram for by reading suggested text. I found it fairly easy to pass and would recommend it for 3 quick humanities credits. PS- As with any TECEP, dont buy the expensive latest edition of suggested text. This is not a class where you need newest edition. Buy an earlier edition for much cheaper. It makes no difference. I have taken 9 TECEPs with earlier edition and passed them all.â
âThe COM-210 Public Relations Thought and Practice TECEP was the other course. I passed it after reading text for a couple days.â

Thank you for replying. Those quotes bolstered my confidence! I will take this test in the next few weeks and then post what I thought about it!
