Excelsior enrollment question
#1
Hi everyone. I'd like to know if anyone can help me out. Say you enroll in Excelsior's Bachelor's Degree program and you have 70 credits but no previous Associates degree. If you meet all of the requirements for an AA in Liberal Arts at Excelsior do they automatically give you that degree or do you just remain "degreeless" until you finish your BA? Hope that makes sense...

Just wondering how that works. Thanks!

You would basically remain degree less until you compleyed you BA /BS degree requirements. They will not just give you the AA /AS degree unless you enroll in a AA /AS degree pprogram and pay the required fees.

Actually u will remain degreeless because they would require that 25% of your credits be thru them. SO they wont because that can't vouch that u have learned anything, basically they wont because they didnt get any money out of you

In answer to the original question, you would be degreeless unless you enrolled into an AA/AS degree-seeking option.

Manny, I believe you might be wrong on that. I believe that Excelsior does not have a credit-residency requirement. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, it is possible to transfer in the entire degree requirements.

Hi Manny,

Welcome to the board.

Just a quick correction, to avoid any confusion...

Excelsior has no limit on the number of credits that can be transferred in. You can bring 100% of your credits from somewhere else, and you wouldn't need to take ANY credits through them (unless you want to).

Hope that helps,

Hi Robert,

If money is not an issue, you could enroll in the AA degree. Then immediately transfer in your 70 existing credits, and Excelsior will award you the AA as soon as they have processed everything.

You could continue working towards you bachelor's degree in the meantime. Then, once your AA degree has been finalized, you can immediately enroll in the BA or BS degree.

But, as has been mentioned, you only get the degree you enroll in. So, if you enroll in the BA/BS degree, that is exactly what you will get.

Hope that makes sense,
