Some excellent feedback there, Michael, thank you very much!
This should definitely go in the exam feedback section for easier reference.

Thanks. I thought I actually put it in there last night but I see it's not there now. It's not really exam feedback since it's a class, but I agree that it's valuable information and those who would most be able to use it would likely be browsing that section. I just put a link to that whole thread over there so potential TECEP takers could stumble upon it.

Just to clarify...enrolled TESC students can take TECEPS for $225. However, it is true that if you are not enrolled the tuition is $450. The TECEP is all multiple choice so it's graded via scanning. I got my results in less than two weeks. Your mileage may vary, but TESC has been picking up the pace on their scoring and reporting lately.
Quote: You pay tuition of $297 per course then the Professor emails you a syllabus (which is really a workbook of 20 Application Exercise assignments).
Again, for clarification...the CSU course is now $417.

Add me to the list of individuals completing Professor Billington's class with an A. As most have said, this is a great class, but you really need to make sure you log onto the webiste, download the notes, read the chapters and have the CD that you can use on many, if not all, of the challenging exam problems.

Just a quick update, professor Billington will be out of the country from July 1st till the 23rd, in case any of you needed to finish the course quickly. It also looks like they're updating the course to use Blackboard for assignment submission and course interaction starting this summer. It's not clear if they'll be using the 9th edition of the textbook for the independent study course, this edition is already in use on campus, but I thought people considering enrollment should check with CSU before buying the textbook. The on-campus course page warns against buying previous editions:
"Be careful buying used on-line: many will try to sell you the 6th or 7th or 8th editions, claiming there are only a few changes! Do not believe them, there are many changes."

Thanks for the updated info, gus. FYI, when I corresponded directly with the professor, he was much more tolerant of early editions of the text than the website suggests--so the 8th edition should still work for a little while--hopefully at least another year or two. Also, I have the pertinent chapters and indexes from the 8th edition scanned as a pdf. Send me a PM if you're interested. Thanks.

Hello all,
Can anyone out there help me out with AE 13.
This is a bugger, I can't figure out where Dell computers is suppose to be in the matrix because it is suppose to be High Volume/High variety.
I'm not even sure I'm doing this matrix correctly.
And I'm having a hell of a time finding a Batch (disconnected line) reference in the book.
Any help will be appreciated.

This is probably already too late but I don't recall having Dell in the list of analyzed companies AE8 to AE11. Are you confusing it with the case study in exam 2?

Actually,
I must have figured it out because I got full credit for doing the matrix.
For some reason it just wasn't looking right.
Just complete exam 4, I've only missed 5 points on all the ae's and exams so I should be good for an "A" I hope.
I didn't have the CD and only downloaded the excel/om file when it was posted here, and after I had already done exams 1 & 2. But It would have been a whole lot easier if I had it. The links to the files on the publishers web site are broken as well.
In all it was an easier class and the instructor is very responsive. But he is going on vacation starting the 1st of July.
