I rented mine on Amazon for about $40. It came a few days before class started, and I turned it back in the day the class was over.

It is available through many textbook rental sites, including Amazon as
dfrecore mentioned. The rental is much more cost effective than the 2nd hand purchase options. My rental was $60. You can compare prices for rentals or purchases through

The strategic management one? I've got one I can totally part with for $20. It's an older year but it worked fine for me when I tested out last summer. Pretty sure it's just the case studies that get updated...

But the Case Studies are the main part of the course! If you happen to use a book that doesn't have one (or more) of the case studies you need, you're screwed! You also don't know if they changed the order of chapters (happens regularly in "updates") so you might not read the chapter you need.
I personally would only get the edition required by the course.

I agree with
dfrecore. I have an older version of the book still in my house. I had used it to study when the TECEP was an option to test out on. But I went the route of the "required for course" newer version knowing that the case studies (vs all the lists - it was all about lists for that TECEP, missed it by 2 points!) where a big part of the actual course. I have far too much money invested in the course to not splurge on rental and ensure I'll have the correct reference material.
