Wow, thank you all for your words of encouragement, prayers, concerns and thoughts. We have many friends, family members, and churches praying for my father. Local Christian friends have been very loving, helpful, and encouraging. I have four bothers and two sisters, all older them me except one, so we've been able to handle the situation very clearly. My Dad was a major provider, but we are pretty diversified in incomes (we have three different businesses, with my brothers owning two, and I'm starting another). We all work in different areas, and in different capacities, but it looks like I may get another job. We can handle it, but its just getting my Dad and Mom to relax about it and let us handle the situation. We may have some big decisions coming up, but we have many wise and smart people to help us. Thanks again to you all, and I'll try and keep you updated.
Update on his health: We are trying to bring him home. His condition is stable, and it doesn't seem like the hospital can do much more, besides therapy. CT revealed no internal bleeding (very good), and the MRI, from the little information we've received, indicated that the stroke was caused by shrinkage of some arteries in his neck (I'll be checking to make sure I have this right). Information about the MRI has taken forever (it was the weekend), but to some degree, no news is good news. His right side is still numb, but he getting better movement of his leg. He can't move his arm much yet, but we'll be getting to work on that. Thankfully is hasn't affected his face much, but it is still numb and this bugs him a lot. His speech is still clear, but he usually sounds kind of sleepy (which is understandable). We are checking into alternative ways to help him regain feeling in his side (e.g. hyperbaric chamber, magnet beds, essential oils etc.).
Mrs. b, we're trying to stay healthy, and fortunately we've all been able to share the work load. I'm just trying to make sure my sisters and my Mom are getting the needed sleep and comfort. They seem to be doing fine, but I'm keeping my eye on them. It could affect them a lot more emotionally then my brothers and my self.
Thanks again. Trusting in the Lord, and staying strong.
