I have attached a categorized view of my own History degree plan with courses in red. I'm testing out of 105 credits, then taking the last 15 from Liberty & ultimately TESC. Not sure if you're wanting to do it this way, thought it might help.
Hi ladyofshalott
Overall, good job on your program plan but some of your exams are sitting in the wrong sections (for the history program, business courses are placed under free electives). AFAIK, personal finance is always a free elective.
I took the liberty of moving some around for you...it should look something like:
General Education Intro Computing, Principles of Public Speaking, Intro World Religions, American Literature, Technical Writing.
Free electives Intro Business, Principles Marketing, Principles Management, English Literature, Ethics in America, American Government, Personal Finance, and add either 3 femas or another exam.
- Omit Intro Modern Middle East itâs already used in theNon-Western/Non-U.S. History section
Good luck!

Lindagerr Wrote:I can not use History of Vietnam War for the History BA, I used that for my first BA. I am under the old plan , so I would need 30 "new" credits. of any level but I have only found 27 credits. I will check out the Ohio U exams, but that is 10 exams.
I would need only 24 "new" credits for the Social Sciences degree and I already took Am. Gov. so that leaves just 7 test.
You generally should take the path of least resistance, but 1) if the Vietnam War is the only history course you took last time, why can't you use it again? If you take the three Ohio U exams and the ECE I suggested above, you would still have 32 new credits.
Just be sure to get the degree that you need, not necessarily the fastest one.
I just looked at the Ohio U exams they are a little scary. I prefer multiple choice, I tend to write too much for the 1 paragraph answers and run out of steam by the end of a second essay. That is also a lot of writing and it looks like it is all pencil and paper. I don't know if my hand could write that long without cramping up.:nopity: I know excuses excuses.
What I want the degree for is to teach Social Studies, Since Social studies is a combination Of history, sociology, geography and civics; I think the Social Science Degree will cover it. The only requirement I can find that differs from what I already have is 15 hours of college credit in "the subject matter" (kind of vague) and another Praxis II exam
I did find the course description interesting and I could end up going back and doing it later. I have become a learning Junkie, if I am not studying for something I get withdrawal.
Thank you for the idea.

Thanks for looking through it, bricabrac! For the Middle East test, there's actually two (Intro Modern Middle East and The Middle East) the latter of which is a course from TESC (which I'm using as the non-western/non-us history).
Thank you for getting me organized I have attached the new one with a better color-coded break-down. Let me know if there's anything else I need to know or change on this! You're a blessing!
Also, while your here to help me...when should I look to enrolling at TESC? I have 51 credits from examination right now and have just been plodding along, wondering when to contact them.
Thanks again for your HUGE help!!

Sorry, I thought I read in your earlier post you planned to test the majority of classes combined with a few courses at another school. I'll take a look at the revised plan later and send any comments to you via PM (I sent enrollment comments); which is what I should have done before, but I wasn't thinking it through. This is Lindagerr's degree plan thread.
Note I am not a history major, I majored in social science. You could start a thread with your plan so the history majors can also provide you with feedback.
