Adult Learner - looking for a solid route for a degree

...

Is TESC better than Charter Oak?
I get what you're saying, but any college grad has to have the basics, so it's not really so hypocritical to accept any degree.

As far as TESU vs COSC, I'd really say they're much the same. TESU is popular here because the BSBA can be earned without having to take a capstone class, you can take a TECEP exam instead. That makes it faster, cheaper and easier than other schools, so people don't mind that they don't take FEMA credits.

The only way to really judge is to get out your spreadsheet program, pencil out the courses and costs and see where you stand.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

Assuming that the 4-year won't care that the credits have been applied elsewhere, you can pick up the Pierpont BOG AAS along the way.
6 credits of Math and Science = Done
6 credits of Social Sciences = Done
3 credits of Computer Literacy = Probably done, they might be able to substitute your extra math credits into that slot
39 credits electives = Done with Shmoop courses
Only thing that's left is your communications coursework, which might be covered already, but will probably need Eng Comp I and Eng Comp II (which you need for any Baccalaureate at TESU, COSC, or Excelsior anyway)

Quick question: What is your opinion of Shmoop? How easy, hard, convoluted, et cetera did you find the courses? Which did you find the most difficult or annoying?
Master of Business Administration, Universidad Isabel I, 2021
Master in Management & Team Management, Universidad Isabel I, 2021
Master in International Trade, Universidad Isabel I, 2021
Master in Supply Chain Management, Universidad Isabel I, 2021
Master in Project Management, Universidad Isabel I, 2023

BS Information Technology, Western Governors University, 2017
AAS Cybersecurity, Community College, 2017
FEMA Emergency Management Certificate, 2017
Fundraising Specialization Certificate, Berkeley/Haas, 2020

Undergraduate Credits: 165 Semester Credits
Graduate Credits: 105 ECTS (52.5 Semester Credits)

Will the BOG AAS transfer to a typical/local university pretty easy? I have ENG I and POLY SCY also... So I I lack a tad less. Shmoop was great - at times very tough. Some of the questions cannot be answered from the info provided. Also some web links just flat out did not work, making the reading sort of challenging.

That depends on the school. Chances are good that a uni which accepts ACE credits won't need an AAS for transfer, and an AAS based on ACE credits won't transfer anything more than your RA credits if they don't accept ACE.

If you're looking to transfer to one of the Big 3, they'll take it, but nothing else is a guarantee.

Unless we're talking about a West Virginia public university, probably not. Without an articulation agreement in place, a new school ignores the Associate's and simply transfers the courses. Usually you will see articulation agreements between CCs and public Universities in the same state, although it does occur infrequently in other circumstances. New Jersey public universities (including TESU) are required to accept an Associate's earned at a New Jersey CC as equivalent to 60 units towards a Bachelor's.

Notably, WGU will grant you all of your GenEd based on an Associate's. At least one person here has specifically done that using the BOG AAS.
