Planning Advice for BS/BA Project/Oper Mgmt
#1
Hey, good afternoon. This forum is full of valuable information and experiences that I have spent a lot of time reading. Thanks to all the contributors!
A couple weeks ago I was about to enroll at SNHU, after researching various different online programs, but then came across this site and started reading about UMPI and TESU.
I am looking at the UMPI BABA Project Management or TESU BSBA Operational Management.

I was hoping someone could provide insight into what my transfer evaluation might look like at UMPI, as it seems they have slightly different Gen Ed requirements than most schools.
I have attached the link to a spreadsheet with my previous colleges and credits below.

I have also received an evaluation from TESU, and will link that here. TESU Evaluation.xlsx - Google Sheets

And, is the UMPI degree plan on the wiki still the suggested methods for effectively obtaining the alt credits, or have more of the business courses become available through sophia?

Thanks for your time.

Your Location: GA/SC, US
Your Age: 35
What kind of degree do you want?: BS/BA Project Management or Operational Management

Current Regional Accredited Credits: 73
JDM Previous Credits.xlsx - Google Sheets

Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:
Google Project Management Professional Certificate (Coursera)

Any certifications or military experience?
Various certifications from 10 years in the industrial construction industry, i don't believe any of them are relevant. No military experience.

Budget: ~2K out of pocket. Eligible for student loans but would like to stay under ~5K.

Commitments: Full time job (62/hr week), 2 elementary aged kids.

Dedicated time to study: Will vary, but in general ~25 hours a week. There are days I have more downtime at work, and can get in 2-3 more study hours.

Timeline: No real time commitment, but the sooner the better.

The TESU BSBA/OpsMan degree is not one of the AoS's that you can get entirely via alt-credit, so to stay within your budget, you would have to take 2 OpsMan courses (APS-402: Applied Quality Management & OPM-415: Logistics) during a single 16cr term alongside the Cornerstone and Capstone.  It might be a heavy load, so I'm not sure you'd want to go that route.  One way to make that a bit easier would be to take an OpsMan course at CSU Pueblo Independent Studies ($205/cr=$615/course), but that would increase your costs.

You need:
 - an ethics course
 - the CSM Learn course
 - 12 courses from the core, which you can get from Sophia and SDC
 - BUS 312: Advanced Operations Management (SDC-UL)
 - BUS 311: Project Management (SDC-UL)
 - BUS 303: Management Info Systems (SDC-UL)
 - BUS 315: Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SDC-UL)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm going to suggest UMPI's BABA/PM degree if you want to stay at a lower cost - it's just easier to get. It looks like you need the following:
1B - English Comp II (take at UMPI)
3C - Biological Science, no lab needed
5C - a foreign language
5D - an ethics course
Intro to Business
Financial Accounting
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Business Comm

If you wanted to try a month at SDC to take a few UL courses to knock down the number of courses needed in the major, you could do that, but it's not 100% necessary (it may mean you do 3 terms instead of 2).
TESU BSBA/HR 2018 - WVNCC BOG AAS 2017 - GGU Cert in Mgmt 2000
EXAMS: TECEP Tech Wrtg, Comp II, LA Math, PR, Computers  DSST Computers, Pers Fin  CLEP Mgmt, Mktg
COURSES: TESU Capstone  Study.com Pers Fin, Microecon, Stats  Ed4Credit Acct 2  PF Fin Mgmt  ALEKS Int & Coll Alg  Sophia Proj Mgmt The Institutes - Ins Ethics  Kaplan PLA
