Hooray! I hope it will be a fun process for you. I really liked being able to choose exams based on my own interests. It helped make studying "easier", too.

Please share your degree plan with us, when you are done creating it. - http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...#post81455

Download the Liberal Arts Catalog and Student Guide to Credit by Exam for more details and information. School Catalogs - excelsior.edu

"Arts & Sciences" are the same categories as the General Education categories – Humanities, Social Sciences, History, Math, Natural Science. The Student Guide to Credit by Exam is a good place to look for specific examples.

“Applied Professional” is like a free electives section and can include subjects like business, computing, and health. The Student Guide to Credit by Exam is a good place to look for more examples.

It appears that the Social Science/History gen ed category has no specific minimum requirement to meet individually. In other words, you can have 6 credits in one and none in the other.

If you are transferring all of your credits to EC, except the capstone course,
$80 Application fee
$1170 3 credit Capstone course
$1015 Multi-Source Enrollment option
$495 Graduation fee (minus $45 for capstone discount)
the total cost to finish would be about $2700 plus $125-400 for Info Lit.

Course/Exam – credit – grade/score

Natural Sciences/Math:

College Algebra II course – 3 credits – A
Astronomy DANTES – 3 credits – 57=A
Chemistry CLEP – 6 credits – 67
Biology CLEP – 6 credits – 77
Natural Sciences CLEP – 6 credits – 73
College Math CLEP – 6 credits – 76
so they gave you credit for CLEP Natural Sciences and CLEP Bio and CLEP Chem ?
I thought for sure the Bio and CLEP would duplicate the Natural Sciences

same for CLEP College Math and Algebra 2, I'm really surprised

Yes, I earned all of those credits without duplication issues at EC.

It's always best to check with your advisor and the latest Student Guide to Credit by Exam - https://www.excelsior.edu/469 Hopefully, there will be a new one available soon.

Based on a recent conversation with an advisor, I believe it is still possible to take all 3 CLEPs - Biology, Chemistry, and Natural Science - without duplication.

I was planning to take the Physical Science DSST to finish my bachelor's degree, but I was told last week that it would duplicate Chemistry and Natural Science(?) CLEP. (This is different than what I was told by my advisor in 2011.)

I took the College Algebra II & Analytic Geometry course to make sure I was ready for Calculus. There wasn't an issue of duplication with the level of College Math CLEP, but I was grateful that I was allowed to go backward and pick up those credits.

Also, in the past year, we have learned that the Intro to Computing DSST and new version of Information Systems & Computer Applications CLEP are being considered duplicates.

I hope the updated Student Guide to Credit by Exam will make all of the duplication issues clear.
