OK guys
I finally seem like I have my plan of action together. After many months of angonizing wait- wasted money- and trying to work out the best options out there for ME I have my POS together.
I got my evaluation back from Indiana university.
This is how it looks for the ASGS
12 credits in Arts and humanities 12 completed
(including Eng comp I and Eng comp 2- IU takes Freshman comp WITHOUT essay for both these requirement- THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!)
12 credits in Math and sciences 9 completed
12 credits in Social /Beh sciences 12 completed
24 electives - 24 Completed
Total 60 required.
Here is what I am planning to do.
I am taking 5 courses through IU independant study. Although I do not REQUIRE these for the AS it self this is the minimum residency requirement at IU for the AS. The good part for this, is that I can take upper level courses to satisfy this requirement (300- 400 level courses)
My plan now is as follows
Intro to comp DSST - computer science requirement
Public speaking DSST - speech requirement
*****Staighterline ACC I
*****A233 Intermediate Healthcare Accounting
*****A333 Healthcare Budgeting and Cost Analysis
Z300 Organizational Behavior and Leadership
C327 Writing for Mass Media
L321 Principles of immunology
******The first three accounting courses will also satisfy a Certificate requirement and I will also get a Healthcare Accounting and Financial Management certificate from IU.
If after taking the IU courses I feel that I have sold my soul to the devil- I will take these 5 upper level coures and finish up at excelsior. If not - I will walk the whole mile home graduating with a BSGS from IU bloomington.
The total price for taking 5 courses with IU is $3000. I know it can be done cheaper.......... but hey- who says a degree from IU is going to be cheap
and any ways if I was to go with TESC I would be paying almost bthat much any way.
Please feel free to critique this plan. I would rather find the down falls before I start. I have been approved for Z300 and C327 and I start out soon...
