Some of the mentors have sent me the wrong boilerplate comments on my discussion or assignments. So you message the professor in Moodle and cause more work for him, especially if you message him inside Moodle. He might get back at you by grading harshly going forward. Do you know how much more work it will be to bust a student?
(Outside messages to the mentor's non-tesu account aren't logged by the school and don't email from your TESU account either, and that's probably how I'd do it) You don't like this situation? Then pick a different school. But almost every school has a lot of cheating if you look hard enough including the top universities.
I had one distant family member report a serious incident that resulted in a misdemeanor on another family member. The family member that reported to law enforcement is now in exile status from the family. I've seen our local police do things on the clock that they shouldn't be (sleeping). I don't report them either. I don't trust the authorities' ability to anonymize tips. I don't want trouble coming back to my house.
