Folks
So Nancy has told me I am just 3 credits away from completing my BoG at Pierpont (woo hoo!). I intend to get them through study.com.
I then want to go on and complete a degree at UMPI.
My question is when can I apply to UMPI? If I complete these 3 credits by say mid July and go through the degree audit etc I'll be set to graduate in December. Do I need to wait until December and I have graduated BEFORE I apply to UMPI? Or can you do some kind of application ahead of time knowing the BoG is coming?
That would work out well I guess as I can use that time to complete the 30 additional credits I want...
I'm just trying to make sure I understand the timing aspect of this!
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks
Simon

Which degree are you applying for at UMPI? If the BAS, you will need your AAS to be conferred before starting UMPI I believe. Any other degree, it doesn't matter since you're not taking any classes at Pierpont.

Ah - I had not really understood that nuance with the different degrees. You've given me something to consider there...Thank you!!!

I decided to go down this same track. I applied at Pierpont and transferred in about 100 credits, 4 from my local coommunity college and the rest from Sophia, TEEX and Coursera. I'll graduate from Pierpont on on Aug 2nd. At the same time I applied to UMPI for the September 3rd 8-week session and got accepted. I applied to the BLS program. Once my BOG AAS is conferred, I'll request a change to the BAS program at UMPI. I'll need the AAS plus 40 technical credits. I got mine from a mix of Sophia, TEEX and Coursera. As I understand it, it shouldn't be a problem to change to the BAS, but we'll see. I'll have everything I'll need when I make the request and will find out soon enough.

So, you get your credits through WES transferred and you're now looking at UMPI? Please follow through with the recommendation here in your previous thread: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Shelf-life
My suggestion is... Exactly that same route as colonelcamp! Here's what I mentioned to another poster: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid421396
If you have the energy, time, to get through a few Coursera, Sophia.org, TEEX cheapies and freebies, you can get the UMPI BAS. Something like this: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid421396

Yep I want to follow that plan Pierpont to UMPI
I hadn't understood the full application process nuances and implications between the two schools. Happy to say I am def learning more about it and starting to understand it better
Thanks!!!

I went from my AAS Pierpont to UMPI CJ program. I didn't graduate Pierpont until May 13th of 2023, but UMPI started May 8th and they let it slide. Just talk to UMPI and they'll find a path for you.
Completed:
UMPI: BA Criminal Justice
Pierpont: AAS BOG w/ Emphasis in Information Systems
Sophia: 24 Courses - The CSM Course - ASU: CIS 194 Business Technology Fundamentals
Coursera: Google IT, Google Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst
