Pierpont BOG Parchment
#1
Hello all. I just started the application process and have sent in my transcripts. I have read a few threads advising against using Parchment, however, my CLEP exams were DANTES funded and can only be sent by paying for and using Parchment. I went ahead and sent them, but much difficulty am I about to face over this?

Also, I am attempting to use credits from my Joint Service Transcript. When I sent my official transcript to Pierpont, all it said was "sent to Pierpont admissions". It didn't give me the option of entering the specific email I was given. So here we go again, what kind of problems will this result in? Is there a way to get JST credits onto Credly or something like that?

I'm just trying to get out in front of these things because I've been reading how long and arduous this process is. Thank you.

The admonition against Parchment really only applies to things like Sophia or Study.com, AFAIK. CLEP and DSST exams are different and should be sent however they can be. They should be able to process them just fine. If you have any issues, though, Nancy Parks is super helpful and should be able to help you get things straightened out with the appropriate people.

You cannot get your JST credits onto Credly, but sending it will be fine.  If you reach out to Nancy Parks to let her know that you sent it but that you couldn't give them an address, she will probably just go get it and deal with it personally - she's helpful that way.

Sounds good. I'm so early in the process, i.e., not having received my paper copy login credentials, that I didn't think it would be appropriate to contact her. Thank you.

@oldguy4associate, I would wait for acceptance and send remaining documentation of credits/transcripts to Pierpont once accepted. Did you create an action plan already? For example, a spreadsheet documenting what requirements are left to complete, you can use this for reference and tracking purposes for your remaining credits if any. BTW, from your alias... why associates? Are you planning to get a Bachelors after?

Hi BJ, Yes I was accepted and I feel I followed Rachels advice successfully as far as my action plan and have all of the necessary credits. I did email admissions right away asking for guidance on using either Parchment or Credly but never heard back. I sent all of my transcripts because the initial "Application Received" email said to go ahead and do that with a specific email provided. I'm assuming the next step is receiving the snail mail copy of the Pierpont email/login process, where I can track my credit acceptance.

I need the associate for my military advancement, but I am continuing to take courses for the BSLA at Excelsior. I will be asking this forum shortly for a once over of my Bachelors spreadsheet. I guess I chose "Old Guy" cause I should've had a degree long ago, and regret not doing so. Now I'm behind the eight ball. Thank you.

Hello all. My RA transfer credits from community college are not fullfilling Pierponts requirements in the dashboard. It says I need 15 credits taken at Pierpont. Also, my College Algebra and Intro to IT from Sophia are not fulfilling Pierponts math and comp literacy requirements. I should meet all requirements at this point. Anyone encounter this?

Ignore the dashboard. It is irrelevant to the BOG degree and shows inaccurate information. You must communicate directly with Nancy Parks about whether you have or have not met requirements.
