Phoenix?
#1
Hi guys, really off topic question here but maybe someone can give me some insight! Smile We're considering moving to the Phoenix area because it's more centrally located around our families and because after living in Chicago we'd really love to move somewhere warmer! We've visited the area and love where we stayed (Scottsdale), but we're curious about other areas of Phoenix that are nice, and which ones are best avoided.

Does anyone who has lived in this area have some insight you can provide? There seem to be some amazing deals on real estate online, but I worry that these could all be in scary parts of town...although most of them look very nice. Can you really buy a house in a decent area of town for 80-90k??

Thanks all!!

I have lots of family in the phx/scottsdale area so I am pretty familiar with it.

Scottsdale = Beautiful
Paradise Valley = Nice
Cave Creek = Pretty (Growing rapidly)
Mesa = not my favorite
Peoria/Glendale = depending on the area can be nice or can be sketchy
Tempe = college town (ASU)
Downtown Phoenix = yikes!

thats all I can remember for now. hope it helps
