Yep. So am I. Plus it requires a PhD in a similar field. and it seems like a 'vanity' computer science degree, where are the doctoral level math courses?
At least Aspen has Mathematics for computer scientists and automata complexity theory..

This discussion opened me up to a whole new possibility I hadn't heard of before, and I thought I'd done some pretty good research! So THANKS to all of you for this!
Has anyone moved forward with this program? I could not find any other discussions about it.

Each class involves weekly live lectures, assignments, exams and projects.

Will you be continuing on to complete the MS or PhD? I have so many questions! LOL
My only curiosity is what sort of criteria they use when awarding this degree. A PhD is research-based and only granted to the student if he/she contributes a significant and new piece of knowledge to the field.
What in IT would require doctoral-level research to contribute a significant and new piece of knowledge to the field?

@Throne apparently your knowledge of IT managment is very limited. There are literally endless contributions to be made.

Thorne, the program from UALR is Computer Science related, and you can choose two tracks for its online version: Information Science (a.k.a. Data Science) and Information Quality.

@louisr you are wrong, IS is NOT Data science.
Data Science vs Information Science.Data science and information science are distinct but complimentary disciplines. Data science is heavy on computer science and mathematics. ...Information science is used in areas such as knowledge management, datamanagement and interaction design. The IS concentration at ULAR is more IT managment focused. The IQ track is also more IT managment focused though emphasis is on quality.
