Maybe I should have made this petition for TESC and Excelsior. I was looking at Excelsior to complete an associate's, but was immediately turned off by the capstone requirement.

I disagree with those of you that do not look forward to capstones because I have found these courses to be the most useful in advancing my knowledge outside of my preferred field. That is why I will not sign a petition to remove capstone courses from the requirments of any college or university.

Well, my focus is mostly on associate's degrees. I don't think COSC's associate's programs have capstones. They only offer general studies at that level anyway. I could add Excelsior, but I think they're pretty set in stone. I'll edit the petition anyway.

That is fine. The capstone project or paper is supposed to be completely focused on your major. If you're talking about the mix of students in TESC's liberal arts capstone course, I think one could learn more about outside fields by reading a book.
