From what I remember, you signed up for the Systems Design course, can you tell us a little about it?
I'm deciding between that and Structured Systems Analysis, and I wonder which would be better suited toward Business MIS.
I did sign up for the Systems Design course. I haven't made to much headway yet. I tend to procrastinate and my new job has taken up some of my time.
For the Systems Design course thru Penn Foster it comes with a Study Guide and a text book. You work thru the Study Guide and it gives you the reading assignments and ?'s you should attempt to answer from the text book end of chapter reviews. Answers to the end of chapter ?'s in the book are in the back of the study guide. Each assignment in the Study Guide has a Self Check. Self check is just a review of the information that you should of picked up during that assignment. Fill in the blanks, matching terms, etc. None of these are graded and you do not turn them in. Answers are in the back of the study guide.
It is broken up into 4 lessons. After each lesson you submit your lesson exam which is graded.
Lesson 1 - Data Design and user Interface
Lesson 2 - System Architecture
Lesson 3 - System Implementation
Lesson 4 - System Operation and Support
The exam ? for each lesson are in the Study Guide. 20 questions for each one. I have only gone thru the first lesson but have not been able to submit my answers online. I currently get an error message when attempting to access the online exam. I am waiting for a response from Penn Foster regarding this. I am told once I complete a few more Lesson exams that the Proctor information will be sent out to me to set that up.
Based on the information in the Study guide it appears that both the System Design and System Analysis use the same book. The Systems Analysis is the first half of the book and Systems Design the second half. I dont have the book with me currently but can provide the ISBN# or any other details needed at a later time.
