We haven't had a huge amount of people do the flat-rate term and do 6 courses. Or at least not a bunch of feedback on their experiences.
You can prestudy some courses, such as critical thinking, as the course is open source and available to everyone.
In the Liberal Arts, if you know how to write a research paper, you can write one before starting the course. That would save you at least 20 hours there. I would read the book in advance for the business capstone, though not the case studies.
If money isn't an issue, taking the courses 2 or 3 at a time is better than all at once.

I may be missing something. If money is not an issue, why not take as few courses as possible and pay the waiver?

Agreed. You're either paying the waiver because money is NOT an issue, or you're taking a 16cr single term because money IS an issue. There's simply no reason to take more than the 2 courses there if you don't have to (obviously, this does not apply to someone with a Pell grant, which is a completely different story).

If you are doing 2 degrees, you will likely take at least 3 or more courses. If you are doing the IT degree, you may take 5 or more courses. Other degrees require at least 3 courses as well.
If you plan to attend law school, you need 60 TESU credits.

These are interesting and good points! Thank you for clarifying. None of these apply to the OP going for the BACS degree, which is where the confusion stemmed from.

Although not required, I would highly recommend taking 3 for BACS. Corner , cap , and Software engineering.

I assume that would be if money is not an issue or if you're attempting the flat-rate term? CS302 at Saylor transferred in for Software Engineering at TESU recently, so it's worth it to try that first: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid383784

SE at TESU is supposed to be way easier than the Saylor exam. At $5/each, it's worth it to try taking the Saylor exam. But you might not pass it, while being able to easily pass the class.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
