All,
I've been in the computer industry for well over 15 years and I am poised to take the Information Systems Computers & Applications CLEP this Friday. I took the practice test from Collegeboard and got 80 out of 90 correct without even studying. I've been reading older posts going back to 2007 and my question surrounds the material on the test if it has been updated or not? Also, I decided to study on the InstandCert because it was recommended. For those that have passed this CLEP, should I have any problems passing and/or have any further recommendations?
Thank you
Alex

With your background and success on the official practice exam, I don't anticipate your having any trouble passing this exam. Yes, the content was updated in 2010. For more details on that and some extra study resources, you can check my two posts here:

Best wishes on your exam!

You'll do great on the exam. Check with your school and see if they take DSST - Intro to Computing for the same course or a different one. My community college took them for two things but TESC won't
If it is different then take that one too (even on the same day if your testing center has both exams). Also look at the DSST - Management Information Systems exam but note that one has some different content. I took the CLEP exam in late 2010 and felt some of the material was quite outdated but that could be a good thing if you know that kind of stuff. I went the
30 minutes of study route and got a 67 so I'm sure you'll have no problems.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

The exam represents a 100 level (intro to computers) course, you should have no trouble. Had you scored <50% you could spend time studying, but you'll likely pass with an excellent score. As mentioned, there are other computer tests, you might be able to rock out a few that day!? Find out what you can use for your degree and go for it! This will be your "freebie"
