More psychology programs? License eligible? Plus MSCS.
#1
Shocked
WGU is hiring behavior analyst and addictions counselor instructors/course developers for their BS in psych. My guess is that they're adding certification/license-eligible concentrations. Even more exciting is that they're hiring course developers/instructors for an MS in psychology with a focus on clinical mental health counseling.

The rumored MS in computer science might be coming soon. They're also hiring for this program.

Depending on the state, addictions, chemical dependency, or substance abuse counselors don't need a master's degree. I qualified based on my bachelor's degree because my master's degree was unrelated to the mental health field.

The BCaBA certification is baccalaureate level whereas BCBA is graduate level. More and more states are licensing behavior analysts, and they're using the Behavior Analyst Certification Board to determine eligibility.

If WGU ever decides to offer social work programs, some states also license them at the baccalaureate level.

Just a heads up: the MSCS and MS Software Engineer programs have been rumored to be "coming soon" for several years now. And despite people online promising they've heard from "credible sources" that they're super close to being ready, the goal posts have always been shifting. I'm still super excited to see these developments but for anyone looking to do these programs, don't hold your breath and be sure to look into other options in case they keep getting delayed.

True, but WGU is explicitly stating that they're hiring for their MS in Computer Science.

Nah Sanantone is right! Even though his link isn’t working. They have job listings for Senior software engineer contractors to help design masters coursework for an MSCS.

To be clear, I never stated those programs weren't coming or that WGU wasn't making plans to bring those programs about(like hiring instructors for them). I merely pointed out that they've been "coming soon" for several years now(according to the various online rumors)so anyone looking to apply for those programs shouldn't count on any specific timeline until there was an official announcement from WGU. I know there's demand for an MSCS/MS Software Engineering so I'm sure they will come eventually. If they're only recently trying to hire staff to build and facilitate the program, then they could still be months or even a year+ away.

Their job ads expire quickly. If anyone is wanting to apply for any WGU opening they see, I recommend applying that day. It might not be there tomorrow. LOL
