I have never taken a DSST test before and was looking for a comprehensive text to study out of. I believe I am pretty bright and am only 21 years old so I have used computers for more years than I haven't. Although I use computers on a daily basis and can find my way around a new computer program pretty quickly, I hate staring at the computer screen and I know I will become bored quickly studying a textbook. So i was wondering if anyone knew of a good workbook to study out of to supplement the information available on this site.

Join InstantCert and you'll have access to the flashcards (a great study medium) and the specific feedback forum where you can get recommendations for additional study materials.

Check out this link, they have great information to supplement this site:
Introduction to Computing DSST Study Guide - Free-Clep-Prep.com
You can also look at the official study guide for a few practice questions and study advice:

Depending on your school you may be able to take the CLEP Info Systems and Computer Apps exam too (schools like TESC don't). You can also do the DSST Management Information Systems exam (which is harder but is upper level credit).
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
