PaedDr in Solvakia via consulting
#1
Good morning!
Has anyone any experience with getting a PaedDr (a so called "small" doctorate" from slovakia)? You can get it by doing a Rigorosum (small thesis + defensio) at e.g. DTI University, a private university in Dubica. And Since Slovakia is an EU-Member you're allowed to use the degree in the EU.
A "downside" is the consultation fee you pay for "translations" and such of about €7000-11.000 for "consultants" like https://pobs-fernstudium.com/

Normally you can only take the Rigorosum with a Masters' degree in the same field. So for a PaedDr would need a Master's in education or pedagogy. Has anyone ever troed to get a PaedDr with a degree in a field of study which is close to pedagogy like social work or social eduacation?

Or has anyone ever tried to get a PaedDr or a PhDr in Slovakia? Is it worth it?  Angel

Maybe it can make a bit of difference in those countries where it is used, for employment purposes in specific fields like school management, I have never seen it in job requirements but of course if one person has masters and the other has PhDr., it is a small bonus. But use of these titles is mostly evaporating, thing of the past.
I don't think they will make problems with degree in a different field. They offer it to make money. (Unless it is legally set, but that is not very likely IMHO, as these degrees are more like "still allowed" than "carefully regulated" it would be likely just up to their judgement and that judgement is guided by $$$. Anyway best to ask them directly.)
