banghead
Ok,
I signed up for 3 individual courses through Penn Foster. Employee Benefits, Retail Management and Corporate Finance. I was able to get approval from from Excelsior to have these courses applied to my BLS degree. I started on 9/1 and finished the last graded project on 9/12. ACE recommendations expire 9/30 for Employee Benefits, Retail Management. My proctor just received my final exams in the mail TODAY and was sent exams for Employee Benefits, Corporate Finance and Organizational Behavior . 1 WRONG exam. My proctor called PF and was told I should have the correct exam by Monday.
If ACE recommendations are not renewed I just wasted $$ on 2 classes that Excelsior will not be able to apply to my degree program!:ack:
I am extremely annoyed with the LONG grading process and the shipping time at Penn Foster College
What if anything can I do about this in the event that I have to fight for credit for the two courses that soon expire?
I will only miss the deadline due to PF's error and timingbanghead

I think it's only 1 course that's a problem, correct? Retail Management. I would take the 2 correct exams, and tell PF that because of their mistake, if your proctor doesn't get the exam for Retail Management in the mail by Monday, and they don't get it graded by the 30th, then you want your money back. Tell them the issue right up front, so that they know going in that it's a major problem for you.
I would just be very polite but FIRM on this.

I agree with dfrecore about speaking to your advisor and letting them know the time crunch you are in. Also, it may not take that long to grade your exam. They received my final on 9/22 and I have my grade today and it was all essays. I hope it all works out for you!

Thanks for the replies! The issue is PF wants me to wait until I receive the correct exam and send them all back in one envelope. I plan to pay (extra) for same day shipping to cut down on the extremely long wait time.
I will definitely reach out to them if I am unfortunate enough to not get credit for these 2 courses! In the mean time I will try and remain calm. Sighhh

Just wanted to update - I sent my exams back to PF via overnight delivery. My grades were posted in one day. I did find out that my courses will be renewed. The update to ACE will take about a month per the representative. I have email proof so now I can relax.

EC might have taken the credit regardless, directly off of PFC's transcript according to
Knowledge Base - Will credits from Nationally Accredited Schools transfer?
Particularly if it was something that had been ACE'd anyway recently.

I thought so too but my advisor at EC said they *might* not accept the credits if they were not ACE approved at the time I completed the courses. I just didn't like the word *might*. Not very concrete
