Overlapping Classes
#1
Hello,

I am working on my "plan" for a degree from TESC BSBA:Finance. I am figuring out what classes to take and in what order. I have extensively searched the boards for "Overlapping" classes to take to make this go best, meaning classes to take or to take together because of the large ammount of material covered in both classes. Here is what I found:

Macroeconomics/ Microeconomics

CLEP Infosystems/DSST Intro to computing (I will see it TESC would take both, have heard both yes and no)

Sociology, Psychology, and educational Psychology, human development

Criminal justice and law enforcement

DSST Principles of Supervision
DSST Human Resource Management
DSST Organizational Behavior
DSST Ethics in America

I tried to group these together based on what I found searching this board.

Does this seem right?

Any other classes you would suggest that have a good deal of overlapping material? Wink

Have a great day
Passed:

CLEP: Macro 68
CLEP: Micro 63
CLEP: Sociology 58
CLEP: Psychology: 66
CLEP: Educational Psych: 63
CLEP: Human Growth and dev: 64
CLEP: American Government: 60

There will be some overlap with the following classes:

CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
CLEP American Literature
CLEP English Literature
All three overlap in dealing with analyzing and interpreting poetry and prose.

CLEP Humanities (covers all of humanities in general)
Any other exam that deals with literature and the arts.
The CLEP Humanities exam covers literature, so it overlaps with American Literature and English Literature.

CLEP Social Sciences and History (covers all social sciences and history in general)
Any other exam in U.S. History, Western Civilization, Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, etc.

After you take the macro/micro and the psych/soc sets you can take the Social Science and History for 6 (you would need to only study general US history)

Sciences! If you want to rack up a good number of GenEds quickly, take the CLEP Biology->DSST Environment & Humanity->CLEP Natural Sciences->DSST Astronomy->DSST Physical Geology. Bio first is the key, and then they build on that base. If you're good in Chemistry and Physics, you could toss those in, too - the order listed above is just what I've chosen based on my own strengths.

Humanities was first for me. There is a great deal of analyzing Lit on the Humanities exam. I almost think I should have done A&I Literature before Humanities.

Also there is a great deal of American Government on the US History 1 test.

Great question!

Passed:

American Gov, US History 1, US History 2, Computing, Info Systems, Humanities, Sociology, Art, Western Civ I, Western Civ II, Social Sciences and History, Civil War, Business, Vietnam, A&I Lit, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, American Lit, English Lit, Astronomy, Supervision, 1 FEMA, Total -79
