My family and church take up a lot of my time. One son developed mental illness in his first year of college and it has been quite a ride trying to get him the help that he needs. It is now 14 years later and he finally has more good days than bad. He lives at home and it is a 24 hour, 7 day a week job that has fallen primarily on me. My greatest hope in this life is to see medications developed to help the mentally ill that will really work to let them lead so called normal lives.

Sorry for the soap box. I enjoy reading, walking, gardening, and anything outside in good weather.l Enough about me.

I like to spend a lot of my time on Speech and Debate. (When its the season) I like to write books and have started many and never finished any. (Although I'm getting close with my last one) I like to spend time with my family and friends, read books, and... I think that's it!

And I enjoy taking walks outside, particularly in the wooded area between housing developments I found a couple years ago.

I work full-time as a translator for the government (Arabic, Spanish, French). My husband and I make a lot of effort to do active outdoorsy stuff lately, so we run 5ks together and we do canoeing/kayaking/rafting and hiking.

My biggest passion is actually animal rescue, so I do a lot of volunteering for no-kill shelters. One of my other big passions is gay rights, so I'm actively involved at work and in my off time with GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Employees) in the public sector and with Equality Maryland and the Human Rights Campaign in the private sector. I also do volunteering and fundraising for the American Cancer Society because both my husband and I have had close relatives who fell victims to the disease.

Between working, studying, training/working out, volunteering, and my love for reading, I barely have enough time for cleaning my house (my way of relaxing!)

That's me in a nutshell. Big Grin

Besides trying to finish up my last few credits...I like to work hard...and play hard!

I'm newly separated mother of a 3 yr old but being a mom is just one part of myself. I still love to dance. Lindyhop, salsa. Still go clubbing when I have the time. I like being active and am codirector of a marathon training program in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Here's our site. Quite proud of helping get it kicked off here in the chicago area.

I work part-time at a women's fitness center, which I also manage, but am currently helping transfer to a new owner. Smile

I help on a lot of campaigns when they're in season... which tends to be most of time!

I'm the Logistics Coordinator for a local Bible Bee (a new competition similar to the Spelling Bee... for the Bible!)

I am a mentor for seventh grade girls at our church's Junior High department.

In my free time (ha!) I play piano, read anything I can get my hands on, talk to friends, volunteer for any worthwhile cause, help my mom run a household and home school three kids, apply for jobs, hang out with my family and... yes, that's about it. Big Grin

That's cool. My brothers actually signed up for this National Bible Bee. They used to be in another Bible Quiz program, and their team won second place at the North American Tournament last year.
