The course videos are created by both GGU and Upgrad. Some of the professors in the video teach at GGU and other Universities in the US & Asia.
The DBA program is split into three phases. There are two taught phases, one is an initial phase where we learned research methodologies, during this phase there is a number of written graded assignments. The course is taught via prerecorded lectures and live sessions which were on a Saturday afternoon (UK time). At the end of this phase there is a online proctored exam. It is mandatory to pass this exam to enter the next stage.
The next phase was the concentration phase, which followed a similar structure in terms of the classes/assignments, but there was no exam. We had group work exercises in this phase; language was not an issue at all.
There is some interaction with Upgrad Personnel in India, but language has never been a barrier.

This is all great news, aimz. Thanks for sharing. Their educational doctorate is on my (admittedly long) list of options, so it's good to hear about how Upgrad works in general.

Thanks Aimz. Do you expect to graduate with the same DBA degree that GCU issues to students enrolled directly with them? Will you have access to the GCU alumni association? Have they provided any guidance about the requirements of the dissertation? Did you have to go through GCU graduate admissions or does Upgrad handle that?

I mistakenly stated the business program at Edgewood College had no business accreditation in my last comment. That is incorrect. Edgewood is accredited by ACBSP. I believe GCU is the same. I am unable to edit my last comment to correct my error.

Thank you for your diligence in catching and noting this! I amended your post above per your request.

Even though Edgewood College has ACBSP, their DBA program does not have this programmatic/secondary accreditation. Just like many other institutions (including TESU), some decided or haven't got each and every one of their Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees evaluated by ACBSP, thus, it's missing from the accredited programs list...

I believe the Edgewood DBA is still too new to have obtained an ACBSP accreditation decision.
Accreditation Process Book for ACBSP Programs Wrote:If the new degree is at a higher level, than what is currently accredited, the school must complete a self-study to add the degree. New degree programs, majors or emphases must be in effect for at least two years and have graduates before accreditation will be granted.

I am unable to edit my last comment to correct my error. Yes I believe it is the same degree. Upgrad handled all of the admissions, they assessed my previous qualifications and I wrote a letter asking for the maximum amount of scholarship to be applied for my admission. After a review of my documentation I was accepted.
I am not sure about the Alumni Association. Since I am not based in the US it is not too important to me. However, people have built up networks in their home countries, and online with current and previous students, I could probably tap into this if needed.

I would venture to say that you may want to do more research and review of classes, cost, requirements, testimonials, etc and see if the degree or program is fit for you. Do your due diligence before enrolling into a program, take your time to decide...
