Only the Capstone to go!!
#1
So I am done with my testing finally. I didn't go near as far as some of the more veteran members on this forum, but I really took advantage of DSST/Clep, and TECEP exams. The exam feedback on this forum was a tremendous help. The programs I took used to get there where,

TEEX: 4 hours
I completed 2 of the courses.

Straighterline: 3 hours
Organizational Behavior

Clep: 27 hours
American History I
American History II
Social Science and History
Introduction to Education Psychology
Analyzing and Interpreting Literature

DSST: 12 hours
Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union
History of the Vietnam War
Substance Abuse
Introduction to Counseling

TECEP: 3 hours
Public Relations thought and practice

I took my first DSST, which was Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union, in August 2014 and that was my first credit by exam attempt. I managed to get 49 hours in total. I am a BA Social Science major at TESC, and I start my capstone course in February, so I will graduate in June (fingers crossed)

I am not trying to brag at all, I am really saying thank you to everyone out there on this forum who took the time to thoroughly review these exams and other methods for credit. It would have been so much harder without all of your help!

I'm right on your trail. Registered for one last TECEP and my guided study capstone for March. Planning on studying all February and knocking this TECEP out when March comes along and then I'll just have the capstone.

Good luck!

Congratulations!!! Hunter91

it really is a good feeling, are you going to continue to a masters degree any? I would like to, but money is short, so my immediate plans are to move abroad to China and teach English for a year or two, and I will most likely work on my online masters from a US institution while I am there. I am not completely finished I am in a TESOL certification program right now at a local institution. So in reality I may be finishing, but really I am just starting.

Thanks Thorn

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm going to do. This whole process is my plan B, as life was a bit unfair to me during my plan A lol. Stumbling across this community and online education in general was an accident (a good accident Smile) that I never would have guessed to have been a part of. I'm just focusing on passing this last TECEP (hoping I passed my last one Marketing Comm) and passing the capstone. I've thought about teaching abroad while I earn a masters online as well. My cousin has been teaching English in Korea for years and still lives there. I may very well do that once I finish this, but I'm not making any real decisions until I finish. For now I'm working to save for school and focusing on these last two hurdles.

Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard Smile

Good luck!
