Sophia class order
#1
Starting my degree journey in a couple days and wondering which classes I should take first at Sophia? Does it matter? I have to take:

  1. English Composition II
  2. College Algebra
  3. Introduction to Ethics
  4. Microeconomics
  5. US History I
  6. Ancient Greek Philosophers
  7. Introduction to Statistics
  8. Introduction to Relational Databases
    Introduction to Python Programming

I hear English Comp II is a REAL slog. Would I be better off taking it elsewhere? Study.com/DSST/TECEP?
Also, do we know if TESU is taking Sophia news science labs? Thanks

Definitely take English Comp II elsewhere, if at all possible. Take Greek Philosophers before Ethics. Python programming has a rather involved Touchstone, so you might want to start with that one, to give them time to grade it while you work on the others.

Both Greek Philosophers and Ethics also have Touchstones, but they're pretty reasonable ones. You should try to have only one class with Touchstones open at a time. This allows you to work on courses that only have Milestones/Challenges while waiting for the Touchstones to be graded.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Thanks for your input. I don't necessarily NEED to take Ancient Greek Philosophers but need a humanities, history, or social science class. Do you think Art History 1 or Visual Compunctions would be faster?

Can you take 2 humanities to satisfy the below at TESU?

Social Sciences, History and/or Humanities 6SH (In progress)

Start with whatever interests you the most or the ones you think you may already have some knowledge about. That will help your momentum

Ancient Greek Philosophers makes Ethics easier. You can still pass without taking Greek Philosophers first, but many students think it's difficult that way.

Yes, you can take 2 humanities courses here.  You need 1 Humanities (or History), 1 History specifically (history is a humanities course, but not all humanities courses are history courses), and 1 Social Science course - and then 2 more of any of them.
