This is helpful during an interview, but you must advance through screening. An elite diploma will help you with this.

The post was about more than the technical interview stages, it's the whole process. My point is that the strategy needs to be comprehensive. Spending years and tens of thousands of dollars to earn a piece of paper so that you're more likely to get screened? There must be far more efficient approaches. It's easy to get caught up in the thinking of "if I only had X, I could do Y" when in reality, it's all negotiable.

I don't see any reason why one can not get a B1/B2 Visitor/Tourist visa and attend the short on-campus session. AFAIK B1/B2 visas can be used for attending short conferences/training programs, as long as one is not monetarily benefiting (aka working) in the USA during the visit.
Citizens of less developed countries generally have difficulty obtaining tourist visas to visit highly developed countries. This is the reason a student visa is so prized.
