Online Bio & Lab at WNMU
#1
I'm just curious on this.
I've seen people looking for bio with lab credits and was wondering if this might fulfill the need or if the title (Bio for Gen Ed) kills its utility -

Quote:Biology for General Education II & Lab

Course Description:
Need a general education course in the natural sciences? This is a 4-credit, completely online course that includes both the lecture and the lab. Work at times that are convenient for you to complete the weekly lectures, discussions, laboratory activities, and quizzes.

In this introductory course for non-Biology majors we will learn about the diversity of life by exploring a range of topics, from metabolic processes that occur within cells, to interactions that occur within entire ecosystems. We will begin by learning the basic principles of chemistry necessary to understand both the hypotheses concerning the origin of life and the basic energetic processes of life: respiration and photosynthesis. We will then survey the diversity of life—from bacteria and unicellular protists to multicellular fungi, plants, and animals—with an emphasis on the evolutionary history of life. Next we will consider the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of plants and animals to better understand how organisms have adapted to the challenges imposed upon them by their environments. We will conclude by examining the ways in which organisms interact with one another and with their environments, how ecological communities are organized, and what can happen when communities are disrupted. This will lead us to a consideration of the human impact on the environment, how we adversely affect life on earth, and what we might do to avert environmental crises.

It's offered at Western New Mexico University.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully
