No thanks! I've worked retail management and it's hell. Being a store manager means you're working 70+ hours a week. Walmart has a long history of treating employees like garbage. There's a reason they're ALWAYS hiring and don't have enough managers. It's not because they're treating their employees like royalty.

The starting salary is $65K not $210K:

Walmart said participants will receive a mix of classroom lessons, individual mentorship and hands-on experience in store management – with standout performers offered the management role of “emerging coach” and a starting salary of $65,000 or more per year.

Those earning $210K aren't new:

Walmart store managers earned an average salary of $210,000 last year, the executives added. Top “emerging coaches” are expected to be placed as store managers within two years.

Yeah, starting salary is what people need to look at, however, if for some reason you can get bumped up rapidly... a gig at Walmart might not be all that bad. You can get the benefits of their educational reimbursement until you finish ABC degree or if you wanted to get another XYZ Masters before you go looking for something else in the future...
