As for the move, been there just did that. It is amazing how much junk you can accumulate after 28 years in one house. My best advice if you have more then one get rid of it, if you haven't used it in 6 months get rid of it and get rid of at least half of your clothes. Find 1 or 2 charities that will come pick up at your door. I found 3 at my old home and already found one at the new house. Usually they schedule pick ups in advance, once you do that it gives you more incentive to get more gathered to give. I still have to go back to NJ to finish things like the attic knee-wall but I got rid of so much stuff I was able to unpack here in under two weeks.
How long do you have to prepare? Are you buying a new house? It can be overwhelming and scary but it is also an exciting fun adventure.
Thanks Linda! I hadn't had a chance to ask you how you like your new location
We will know his exact start date this week, it will be late August I believe. I'd like to start getting my crap thinned out-decluttered-house staged- and listed by mid June. (lol). We ARE buying a new house. I hope that our house will sell quickly and we'll be off without a hitch....but I know life doesn't always work so smoothly! I'm getting rid of a lot, I just spent a few days researching moving options (UHAUL, Pod, etc) yikes. I'm a huge yard-saler, so a lot of my stuff wasn't even new to start with, you can bet I'm not paying $50 to ship a $75 item that I can get when we get there. Plus, less packing = happy lower back. I'm embarrassed to say how much crap we've accumulated, so we are wrapping up our school year sooner than later and working on the piles!
P.S. what a perfect way for me to procrastinate the last editing/re-writes of my book...... oh well, in time. I have my HES BIO final tomorrow and my 7 year old is coming down with chicken pox, so it's just another day lol!
