Oh My Gosh.
Well, it's the class not the CLEP. I'm in my first week and SWEATING big time. I just finished my first lab- which was essentially measuring stuff- (it's either a science thing or my teacher, but I'm not nearly as type A as I thought I was) and it took me 7 hours. :ack: I'm not even sure I did it right-I'm pretty sure a lot of my math is wrong. Once these labs get hard, it's going to cut WAYYY too far into my IC message board time

Good luck Cook! My sister started this week at a community college to for her prereqs and she was having a mini melt down. She dropped 1 class, now she's only taking two which has been a huge relief to her. She's taking Statistics and Bio or Phys Anatomy, I forgot which one she dropped. Now she's enjoying it. I'm sure you will do fine but are you taking MBA classes simultaneously too?

Best of luck! Chemistry was hard for me, too, but it was worth it in the long run. That didn't stop me from kicking my textbook into a snowbank after my final exam, though. :willynilly:

Often bio is a prereq for AP1, so if they let her take both, then she likely doesn't need bio! So, she maybe should ask about that. AP1 for sure is a nursing prereq. My program doesn't require general bio either.
Anyway, yes, I'm taking my MBA classes simultaneously- but right now I'm only doing the orientation. My real class doesn't open till 2-1-10.

I don't think she would've overlooked that but thanks I'll pass on the info to her just in case.
MBA too, you truly are an action hero.

Hi Jennifer!
What type of class is this - in a classroom, online, at home lab?
Since I planned to take a lot of math and science courses, I have been warned that labs take a ton of time and they do not award nearly as much credit for them as a regular class that requires the same amount of time.
You have such a full schedule this semester. I hope you can get this worked out with your teacher so that the next one won't be as time consuming and frustrating.
If you need any extra study materials, I found some good resources when I was studying for the CLEP. http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post66172
Keep us updated on how you are doing!

LOL I soo over did it this semester. I'm sure you'll hear me whine a lot. My labs are freakin TONS of work. My chem lab last night took me 7 hours, that's nothing other than the lab (experiments, photos, writing the report). The actual chem class lecture, handouts, reading, discussion, etc is easily another 5 (and I tend to do the minimum- I shouldn't say that here lol but it's true). So, that's about 12 hours if you get it- more if you don't... HOWEVER I don't have to go anywhere- so I'll take 12 hours at home in my jammies with a bag of M&Ms over getting ready- driving to campus- blah blah blah...
The thing about my experience with Ocean so far, is that even though you can mathematically pass the course if you skip a lab or two, it isn't allowed- so it's a fail if you don't turn in a lab - a zero if it's late. So, if you miss one you still have to turn it in to get the zero so you can continue. No pressure.
These labs are online courses through Ocean County College and require home lab study. My AP2 will be a little harder than AP1 was simply because of this teacher.
My study schedule is 6 hours per day M-F, 4 hours on Sat, and as needed on Sunday. I'm cooking dinner while I type this lol.

FYI my sister dropped microbiology but she is required to take both AP and bio for the schools she's applying to. It's good you only have to take 1 of the 2 but still sounds like you have your hands full.

Wow, they let her in micro without biology or AP2?? I looked far and wide for a micro without an ap2 prereq, that's REALLY awesome!!!
