Is it necessary to get a PMP certification in US?

Of course not. You'd have to give a LOT more context though; if you ask a better question, you will get better answers.

All the official PMP CERT gives you is that you are current and up to date with the latest Project Management Standards. PMI is considered the gold standard but it is not necessary to have it in order to be a Project Manager. It always depends on the employer in the end. I personally operate within this realm and would give it weight if someone lacked experience and was trying to cross over into Project management. but would not consider it a deal breaker.

Welcome to the forum!

Some certifications are industry recognized. If you do a search on Indeed, you can count the number of job postings that mention certain certifcations.

Some people get certifications are a part of their continuing education and aren't using those certifications to get a job.

Some employers may require you to get certain certifications once they hire you.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

Depends on the job and company. Some companies require a PMP. Others don't. If you're a project manager, you're far more marketable with a PMP than without.

THIS. Basically, it all boils down to your future company requirements. If they need/want you to have the PMP, I would go for it, if they don't require the PMP and just a degree with some courses in Project Management will do, just follow that path instead. You really need to "read" what their requirements are as each company or industry is going to have different standards and so on...

The few people that I know that have a PMP are glad to have it.

I don't know anyone with Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) but that's what I'm going for since my BA is still in progress. And the few people I've mentioned this to are still excited for me.

CAPM is a great stepping stone to PMP if you don't have any project management experience.

Your question is very vague.

I have a PMP and I do that because I am a project manager and it makes you more marketable.
