Hello,
I'm trying my best not to overwhelm Pierpont employees. I must say when Nancy Parks was in charge of the program, she answered my questions. I'm frustrated and disappointed that they can't at least post a FAQ or automated response with with a FAQ.
My daughter just finished her last class, we think. She submitted her transcripts from both ASU two weeks ago and Sophia today.
ROAR is showing nothing in terms of her credits, however, it is showing a Hold on her account with a balance of $350 but I don't know if I should pay it or not because I don't know if they will accept the last two transcripts and I can't find a way to actually pay the darned bill.
We called Accounts Payable on October 4th but we were told to wait until we have more information.
Now, we cannot get any information from anyone, at this point. The registrar won't answer her emails. The finance person, who was very helpful when I went through this two years, won't call me back. I can't a payment because it's got a HOLD and now we're in a loop and I'm getting very frustrated.
She's included Dave Beighly (sorry if there's a misspelling) in the emails and he is not responding, either!!
I know they are overwhelmed but they could save themselves so much time by putting a simple FAQ on their website saying transcripts are accepted through date mm/dd/yy for the December graduating class for the BOG program.
If you can't pay online, contact <whomever> and that person actually returns your call, after you've said you can't pay online due to a hold.
So, yes... I'm ranting! Sorry!
Anyone know when Pierpont will accept the last transcript?
Who to contact to see if my kid has enough credits - I think she does but we'd like to know for sure?
How to pay when there's a hold on your account?
If we pay and they won't let her graduate, can we get a refund?
Thank you!

Credly badge credits usually take a few days to appear, other colleges 2-3 weeks if you are lucky. The experience from other forum members has been to pay the 350 usd fee asap to lock in the diploma. Hopefully an email will show up in a few days saying which AOE the transcript will include.

I don't think there's any point in directly contacting David Beighley. He ignored my brother's emails (one email a week) for about a month and only responded (within 3 hours) when my brother submitted his application of graduation to Lisa Phillips.
"The $350.00 fee has been applied to your student account. You can make this payment by calling Student Accounts at 304-333-3739 or through your ROAR account"
When my brother contacted the Student Accounts office, they explained the hold and removed it after he gave his payment info.
However, before you pay, there was a policy change with the BOG program, requiring 12 credit hours to be taken at Pierpont effective Spring 2025. Did your daughter apply for graduation before the 10/4 deadline? If not, she would fall under the new policy.
"Per the handbook for the BOG degree program in WV, Pierpont requires a residency requirement of 12 credit hours (passing grades only) of coursework completed through Pierpont. Effective October 4, 2024, extra-institutional credits will not count toward the 12-credit residency requirement. Extra-institutional credits include ACE credits. BOG students without an approved application for graduation and degree audit for fall 2024 or those who apply to the institution after October 4, 2024, declaring the BOG (AAS) degree, will be required to complete 12 credit hours of Pierpont residential credit." https://catalog.pierpont.edu/preview_pro...urnto=1745

After 3 months of no response from David, I reached out to Mrs. Parks last week. Within minutes, she responded, answering all my questions and more.

Avidreader, surprisingly her Credly transcript was updated the day after she completed calculus. We downloaded the official transcript and checked it before sending an updated one to Peirpont.
We definitely tried to pay the 350 grad fee when she applied on October 3rd, but were told to wait. We can see it in her ROAR - showing it's over due and has a hold but ROAR won't let us make a payment. I don't understand that but I'll try the account payables person again today.
Thanks for helping!

Has your daughter called? She may need to be the one to communicate due to FERPA.

Hotdogman1, she did apply for admission to the BOG and apply for graduation before the October 4th deadline.
We tried talking with the accounts payable person and they us to wait until the degree audit was finished.
Thank you for helping!

It seems unusual that the Credly Transcript was processed faster than the ASU transcript (I remember ASU transcripts being processed within a week). I'd recommend having your daughter call (don't email) the Registrar's office and asking for a status update on the ASU transcript.
The degree audit was the reason my brother was trying to contact Beighley. Once everything gets processed, maybe email both Lisa Phillips and Beighley with the desired AOE and hope it prompts him to do the audit?

I've given up on Pierpont. Nothing but silence from them.
