No appts until the middle of Sept
#1
I am frustrated  because I have called a number of local testing sites and they are telling me that they won't make any appts until after the first week of Sept. due to new students being tested. This is frustrating because I was revved up to get at least two CLEPS done by the middle of August. Then two more in Sept.

What are some opinions on studying a few subjects simultaneuosly over a six week period? Good Smile or bad Sad for CLEP results?

Personally, I would pick out several exams that I want to prepare for. Then I would systematically study for each one, as if the exam was coming up in the next few days.

That way, when your test center is taking appointments again, you will already have a head start on each of the subjects you wish to take. It will also prevent you from losing momentum, and help you to feel like you didn't waste six week entirely.

If you can pick out some exams that are related, or have a lot of overlap, all the better.

You might even find yourself adequately prepared to take all the exams within a very short time-frame once the six weeks are up.

Best of luck to you...and try not to get too frustrated.

It's a bump, not a wall. Big Grin

I thinks there is nothing wrong with going after more then one at once. More power to you. As for the testing center, I have had good success with getting to test on a day notice and even had a few walk ins. Another place I was at when out of town, wanted a 2 week notice for testing and only tested on WED at 8am. I drive over an hour to my test site. Are there any others around where you can go instead to knock those two out?

Another alternative might be to look further afield for a test center.

If you can't test for six weeks locally, it might be worth it for you to travel two to four hours away a couple of times over the next six weeks. You could at least get a couple of exams out of the way during this enforced hiatus from local testing.

Even if you pass two exams in the next six week, it would be great! Better than nothing, at least!

Just throwing out ideas for you to consider,

Thanks you, all, for your input. Maybe I will check tomorrow for more sites, even the farther ones. If I don't come up with anything doable, I guess I will just continue to study the ones that I had wanted to take sooner but can't.
