I went to college many many years ago,in another country....I would like to test out or come close, but i am new to this.>I have been reading posts but i still need help.
I am starting from scratch since i didn't finish my degree, i need all the help i can get.
I think i am going with charter oak
How do i know what classes/exams i need? ( how do i build a plan the easiest way?)
Do i need to enroll at charter oak to start testing? how in the heck do some of you get it done in 6-9 months?
Is collegeboard.org a good idea?
Thanks in advance,

First go ahead and post your classes / grades and all that good stuff some someone with charter oak experience can help you build a plan. Second thing I would suggest doing is enrolling in all the "Big 3" and get evaluations. One school could come way out on top with what they give you. In the mean time waiting on someone getting you a plan ready / and or getting your evaluations done go do courses you know you still need. I'd like to give you an example but I have no clue what courses you already have.
Note: You will probably have to send your transcript into one of the "foreign" degree places to have it evaluated there first. I am not 100% on this.

No, exact words matter here. Apply to Charter Oak, Excelsior, and Thomas Edison (the big 3) and get evaluations. Do not enroll in all three. Enroll in one of those schools after seeing which school offers the best deal in terms of time and effort to complete a degree.

Welcome to the board, I second these comments to apply to big 3 and also would recommend you apply to WGU as well.
First things first (as always), to know where to start - please read the Beginners Guide thread and the Wiki! Plan your attack!
There's tonnes of information where to start and getting free credits first and then work on the general education requirements.

And to get credit for what i already have would be money and time involved due to the bureaucracy and corruption levels in my country, it'd be more time efficient to start from scratch

If you're starting from scratch, what evaluations are you referring to? I mean, I highly recommend getting your transcripts evaluated.
For example, if you did 3 years of an accredited college/institute courses and have the transcript come in, that may give you 90 credits.
That will save you so much more time than starting over... for as little as the fee for the evaluation accreditation agency.
This would not be a good option if you did just 1 course or two at a college/institute, those credits can be quickly made up.

That money is less that $200USD for X amount of credit. You need to decide, is that amount going to be too much and the return on investment.
As I mentioned above, if you have 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years of education and it's evaluated to equal 2-3 years of an USA education, you just
need the extra 1 year to finish off your degree. I hope that makes sense, you may want to give us more info on your situation. Kapish?
