Hi,
I was wondering what is the quickest way to chart a degree plan for an accounting degree? Also, is it possible to complete the entire degree just using clep, tecep and dsst? Are there other tests I need to be aware of?

Others are going to weigh in on this, no doubt, but you cannot totally test your way out of an accounting degree since you there is only one CLEP and one DSST for Financial Accounting and one TECEP for Federal Tax (IIRC). Check out LSU Independent Study at is.lsu.edu for additional accounting courses. You probably can test out of everything else if you get your degree from Thomas Edison State College. I'm not sure if there is a test out option for Business in Society. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

I was thinking of getting it from thosmas edison state college. I dont mind taking some classes from them. I guess I should have phrased my question in a better manner. Is one able to skip higher level classes using these tests? Or do they only cover general classes?

No problem Ali...that's what we all are here for. To answer your question...you can use CLEP,DSST, TECEPs and others to meet degree requirements.
Based on the Accounting Degree from TESC...it looks to me like you're going to have to take 8 classes. The rest can be done with exams.
Do you currently have any college credits already??? If not...I will put together a sample degree plan for you for the TESC Accounting Degree. That way you will have a roadmap to follow. I'll post it on this thread tomorrow.

That would be perfect. Thanks in Advance. To answer your question, I did attend school back in 2000 but I would rather retake those classes. Not going back to school for just a degree but to actually learn something.
