I'm doing the placement test, so you skip all the tests due to prior knowledge so what are you really learning and studying for? I don't get it cause its not like flashcards where you could review it. Thanks.
The placement test is used to skip over knowledge you already know. It will cut off once you get to like 80% of the course or cut off when it deems your knowledge is limited and must go through the remaining lessons you didn't test out of. It's considered to make the course quicker as it shortens the material needed to review for the exam.
Basically, all Study.com classes are going to be split into 3 equally weighted components of quizzes, final exam, and assignments (if any). You go through them in that particular order, the placement portion is to see if you can quickly test out what you may know and can get you anywhere from 30+ percent of the entire course complete.

So, I've done all the quizzes. How does the proctor exam work? Would I be able to do a proctor exam at night or could I schedule when to do it at like a date and time?

Basically, it's anytime you want to take the exam, I've crammed 3 exams from midnight to 4 am before... You'll just need to download the RPNow (PSI) software and go through the exam, I've done many with an older laptop, you shouldn't run into any issues, the software just opens a built in browser and blocks everything else. You need to show your picture ID and a spin around the room for your exam space to be reviewed... Overall, RPNow is so much better than ProctorU, I did a similar 3 exams crammed with ProctorU and had headaches due to those proctors not knowing what they're supposed to do.

I'm trying to do Comm 120 but for the quiz it says - With this quiz grade, you will need to earn at least 56% on the proctored exam to pass this course. But, when doing the practice exam it says need to pass a 70%, my highest is 62% on the practice. Say for example, I pass with a 62% on the real exam, that means I pass the course? Thanks!

Generally speaking, people tend to score within 10% of their practice exam score. So if you score 62%, your range on the final exam is likely between 52% and 72%.

I just passed it last night, surprisingly I got a 74%. I have to say the questions are more difficult and it's not the same easy questions as the practice test but I think the practice test does help.

Good to hear you passed.
The practice test is a good gauge to see where you are at.
You can take the practice test multiple times though keep in mind it can start to repeat itself using questions from the quizzes.

Hey guys, I'm confused on the 3 assignments for finance 301, out of 100 I have 82 points. For the quizzes, I have 99 points. In total I have 182 out of 300 points. But here, it says "With this quiz grade, you will need to earn at least 56% on the proctored exam and course assignments combined to pass this course." in order to pass, I need 210/300, so in this case I just need 28 more points to pass? meaning, I could score like 28-30% on the final exam and still pass as long as I hit the 210 points? Thanks and sorry for the confusion...

My math is really bad, but this simple math I can help... Yes, you need about 30% on the final to make the cut, you need at least 70% cumulative! You have 99 for quizzes, 82 for assignments, that's just 181. You need 29 out of 100 to reach that 210 out of 300... Thus, anything less than 30% would mean, a fail in the class, you need to make sure you also pass the final exam just to be on the safe side, shoot for the 70% or higher mark if possible.

I'm not sure if this is automatically generated based on your quiz scores or if it's a specific requirement for certain courses. Others have reported encountering this in different courses as well.
It might be a good idea to email Study.com for clarification.
