That's my thinking too, though I don't understand why the advisor didn't mention this. They just categorically said "you will not have a capstone requirement" with no mention of any caveat like "as long as you're enrolled before May 25th". I'm basically on the same page as you from another post, perhaps another thread. I want to get in on the waiver and enroll before the cornerstone requirement comes into effect. I don't expect the cornerstone to be difficult, but I'm certain the PLA course will be much easier.
Maybe it's because even though I'm not enrolled, I'm still within the 6mo acceptance "grace period" to take some course or other to gain enrolled status under my current catalog.
