Couldn't they have offered a subject that is required for popular degrees like Organizational Theory for human resources? This test makes me want to slap them. What happened to the TECEPs they were developing in partnership with Saylor?

Well, I for one am thrilled because I needed this specific course and it's difficult to find at an affordable price. I wish they'd offered Music History I as well, but this is a start.
CLEP's and DSST's passed: Fund. of Counseling, Tech Writing, Here's to your Health, Intro to Computers, Analyzing and Interpreting Lit, Human Growth and Devel, Intro to Soc., Crim Just, Law Enforcement, Env. and Humanity, Astronomy.
Completed 2 PLA's through LearningCounts.org.
Completed Capstone at TESC.

Question: It says "only available through the online testing option"- that's just referring to the online proctor, via web cam, correct? Are all TECEPs closed-book?

I agree, there must be a demand for them to design/reintroduce exams. I'm sure they are not planned in a vacuum.
It seems both environmental ethics and radiation safety officer exams were rolled out close to suspending the use of FEMA CEU courses.

Yes, online option would mean using the proctorU service. The majority are all closed book, no notes. For a few I've noticed they may allow use of a dictionary (ENC101, ENG201), writing guide (ENC102), non programmable calculator (MAT105/121, STA201, ACC102). The only one I remember allowing open book is Federal Income Tax. They are all different, you would need to check the fact sheet of each individual exam for details.

That's based on the assumption that the people at TESC have working brains and actually use them. The employees don't know what they're doing half the time from the admissions counselors up to the directors.

Music History! My degree has nothing to do with music really, but I will probably look into this exam because I've got a pretty extensive classical music background and music makes me happy. :-)

Which TECEPs? Do you mean those that use Saylor courses as their text reference?

Yes! I know what you mean! I think I'd probably be able to do well on this exam. The only setback is that it requires books; some TECEPs utilize Saylor courses (i.e. Environmental Ethics, Network Technology) which make them more affordable.

Last year, TESC announced that it was forming TECEPs that will align with Saylor courses. The list they gave included Management Information Systems (don't really care about that since there's a DSST), Mechanical Engineering, and some other subjects.

I found the list. They've already released three of the planned tests. They're missing Thermodynamics, Intro to Mechanical Engineering, and MIS.
