New Structure?
#1
What's the current status of the course structure? I noticed that they switch from strut to Canvas. Is the structure different on the courses?  Are the exams still a thing for particular courses or most exams have been converted to writing assignments?   I read something in reference to this a few months ago but I'm interested to know how this has been confirmed for individuals who are currently in the course.

UMPI is still using Strut at this time. The plan is to move to Brightspace in the future. The move keeps being delayed. They're not moving to Canvas. There are still exams on Strut.

Has any of their courses get moved to Brightspace? I don't recall if I read any reviews on their courses recently indicating so... Generally, institutions would have pilot courses that they want to test out before moving the entire set of courses to a new platform.

On campus has been using Brightspace for a few years. YourPace is still on Strut. Nothing is live on Brightspace for YourPace students yet.

I have no idea if this was already open to previous students or if it's another thing that only on-campus students were meant to deal with, but I was able to access and complete a Brightspace course called "UMPI Students: Brightspace Certified!" through my student center portal on course.maine.edu. I figured it was some orientation thing. That's always been there?

It's for on campus students. They've been using it on campus for a few years. It's for orientation purposes just like the Strut orientation course.
